
Tejas Rao Sankar is a nonspeaking autistic who spells to communicate. Tejas is a passionate advocate for the rights of nonspeakers who use spelling as their primary means of communication. His advocacy led him to be nominated to the Nonspeaking Leadership Cadre, at the International Association for Spelling to Communicate, where he contributes to the advancement of the rights of nonspeaking autistics, and the evolution of S2C.
Tejas has also worked as a peer counselor. He has supported spellers who have experienced acute and chronic regulation issues, by sharing his lived experience and strategies to overcome this.
Tejas has written blogs, contributed to books, and has been a keynote presenter at Motormophosis, Dulles Virginia, and a panel presenter at the CUNY of NYC Neurodiversity Conference, NYC and the Innovations in Education conference in Atlanta.
